Not sure which track? The course opens with a department overview so you can make an informed decision before committing to a track. You can also add a second track at any time.

A career, not just a job

Start Your Journey
How It Works

Simple from purchase
to first position.

You enrol, you study, you get placed. Every step is designed to remove friction and move you towards an actual position on an actual yacht as directly as possible.

01

Enrol & choose your track

Choose your tier and complete your enrolment. You immediately receive course access and select your department track. Your profile enters our crew database the same day.

02

Work through the course

Study at your own pace — on your phone, tablet or laptop. Video modules, downloadable PDFs and your full role track. Tier 02 and 03 students also join a scheduled live session.

03

Build your CV & get certified

Use our guides, templates and vetted school list to complete your certifications and build a CV that gets read. Tier 03 students refine this in a private 1-on-1 session.

04

Get introduced to the right vessel

When a position opens that suits your profile, our placement team contacts you directly. No job boards. No cold applications. A direct introduction to a captain or owner.

Study on your phone, tablet or laptop.

The course is fully online — work through it at your own pace, wherever suits you. There's no fixed schedule and no deadline. Your access is ready the moment you enrol.

Common Questions

Answered before
you need to ask.

No experience is needed — and no sailing experience is required. The course is designed for anyone who is genuinely interested in building a career in yachting. If you already have some experience and are looking to move up in rank, this course will still be useful for the industry knowledge, CV and placement sections, but you may also want to look at our Experienced Crew services.
The course content is identical across all three tiers. The difference is the level of personal support. Tier 01 is self-paced study with all materials provided. Tier 02 adds a live group session where the course is covered together and your CV is worked on in real time. Tier 03 adds a private 1-on-1 call with a YE professional to go deeper on your specific situation, background and goals.
You study at your own pace with no fixed deadline. Most students complete the core material within two to three weeks of part-time study. The role track can take slightly longer depending on depth. We recommend completing the course before attending any certification training, as it will help you get significantly more value from those programmes.
Yes. You choose one track at enrolment. If you later decide to add a second track — for example, if you want to work in both Deck and Interior roles — you can purchase the additional track at any time. Some crew find this useful if they are willing to be flexible on role in their first season.
Your profile is added to the Yachting Europe crew recruitment database when you enrol. This is the same database used by our crew placement team when captains and owners approach us looking for crew. You do not need to apply separately — your profile is visible to the team from day one. When a position opens that matches your department, stage and availability, we contact you directly.
Yes. Our recommendations are based on the quality of training and the reputation of the providers within the European yachting industry — not commercial arrangements. Where we have negotiated discount codes with providers, we are transparent about that. The goal is to help you spend your money wisely, not to earn referral fees. Our business is crew placement, and well-trained crew is directly in our interest.
Live sessions run on a regular schedule — exact dates are shared with Tier 02 and 03 students after enrolment. Sessions are recorded so if you cannot attend live, you can still access the full session. We typically run sessions at least once per month, with higher frequency during the pre-season period (January–March) when demand is highest.
